Congratulations! You've bought a house, what's next?

What happens next?  The first 10 to 12 days of a purchase period tend to be the busiest.  First and foremost, if you are obtaining financing - do not buy anything on credit nor apply for credit until you close on your home.  This can affect your quailfying for your loan program.

As the buyer, you have some roles in the first days.  These include;

  1. Choose home inspector in the next 24 hours so we can coordinate inspection date.
  2. Review and select the home warranty company (if in purchase agreement) and notify us so we can order.
  3. Start discussions with your insurance agent to order insurance for your home.
